It's been awhile so...
The Wheel is turning out to be everything I could have hoped for. Nell White plays an envious sister, and has the perfect mix of quirk and capriciousness about her. The brother...well there wasn't much to modify for the gentleman playing the eccentric brother. He's an amazing sculptor to boot (one of his giant creations cameos). SAG was equally as generous as the actor Mark Metcalf who makes a great "cosmic patriarch" figure who's two-head bumps away from Tesla.
Practical set pieces require a bitch load of carpentry, a retired woodworker's LASER, and more splinters than a sarlac pit... but at least it has a soul.
This is a cliche but I have the best team in the world, each shot is a painting and everyone in every department is overclocking to put out amazing work. It is hard not to be a fan boy sometimes on set. It's suuuper tempting to post every little tid bits that fall off the back of our shoots (esp. because it's only going to be about 10min).
The fates smiled on this film as we were fortunate enough to be blessed with THE MYSTERIUM CHIP, from the amazing champion of indie filmmaking North American Camera (and Milwaukee Film who is the cement in all this goodness :D hi google alerts). The miniatures and costumes are going to be the icing on our steampunk cake. One last bit of advice is to get an AD like I have that will kick your ass, it's because of her that I've been forced to tune-up work-flows make tough decisions and evolve in general. She's a god send, and my DP well..he's a god.
